The oil spill of 2010-Deepwater Horizon, was released on Blu-Ray DVD, available at home to inform watchers in regards to the accident occurring in the Gulf of Mexico.
On April 20th, 2010 the Deepwater Horizon, a portable drilling platform, experienced an unpleasant surprise. Mike Williams, the chief engineer of Deepwater, was one of the strong survivors of this accident. Directed by Peter Berg, the factual event was created into a movie Deepwater Horizon about the accident itself, completely disregarding the effects of the oil spill. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Kate Hudson, and Gina Rodriguez.
As many would recall, the adventurous action movie Deepwater Horizon was released on September 30th, 2016 in theaters, but recently has been released on Blu-Ray and DVD on January 10th, 2017.
Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg have a history of engagement of co-working in previous films. Besides from Deepwater Horizon, these co-stars collaborated in Lone Survivor, and most recently in drama/thriller film Patriot’s Day.
Focusing on the Deepwater occurring in 2010, well-known accident has been called worst oil spill in U.S. History.
Mike Williams was blown back by the door because of the explosion. Mr. Jimmy, played by Kurt Russell, was in the shower during the explosion and lost vision of his eyes. This film teaches people about digging up oil and the terms that go along with it.
The Blowout Preventer prevents a blowout from happening. Overall the film was enjoyable and the actors were amazing.
Every movie has pros and cons in it. There are a lot of Pros in Deepwater Horizon- the first pro is that they built a set that looked exactly like the Deepwater Horizon craft. They had to be precise on where each section of the model is where.
They even built a drill shack. That is one the most important parts of the Deepwater.
Second is the actors and actresses. Mark Wahlberg has a habit of doing true story movies. He was in The Perfect Storm, Lone Survivor, and Invincible. The film had the legend Kurt Russell. John Malkovich is another veteran actor in this film. He was in the movie Con Air with Nicholas Cage.
He has a repetitive habit of being the bad guy in every movie, but in this movie he plays a BP advisor named Donald Vidrin.
Vidrin was the one who forced the crew to start drilling. Kate Hudson was a comedic actress who was in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Bride Wars.
The special effects were better too, only because the explosions looked real and they even had a flamethrower from a scene when Mark Wahlberg was running.
The only con was that it was too loud. It will definitely blow your speakers out if you have your volume turned up all the way. Deepwater Horizon gets a 10/10.
At the end of every Peter Berg movie he always puts in a dedication to all of the lives that were lost during the incident.
This review is dedicated to the men that were lost in the Deepwater Horizon accident, individuals that lost their lives reported as follows: Jason C Anderson, Aaron Dale Burkeen, Donald Clark, Stephen Ray Curtis, Gordon L. Jones, Roy Wyatt Kemp, Karl D. Kleppinger Jr., Keith Blair Manuel, Dewey A. Revette, Shane M. Roshto, and Adam Weise.
